About Kat
Kat Strickland has been working in education and the arts since 1985. After spending two years at Skidmore College and graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science, she concentrated in Art Education, teaching and running her own small business.
Kat creates books, journals, cards, and paintings. She writes short stories, poetry, and 3-D story scenes with interactive pieces. She is a process-based artist who uses Sandplay, Dream Work, and Bold Intuitive Painting to help individuals access their inner guides and true selves.
With 36 years experience as a teaching artist, Kat holds certificates in Trauma-Informed Creative Arts Therapy and Sandplay Therapy. She has also studied Carl Gustav Jung and dream interpretation since 2005. She helps her students cultivate their own authentic way of expressing their creativity.
Creative Exploration for All Ages
Sessions may benefit children and adults interested in art, children with learning disabilities or ADHD, people with brain injuries, Alzheimer's or dementia, and adults seeking creative ways to explore dreams, past trauma, or current life challenges.
Working one-on-one with women:
Kat brings extensive creative tools to help individuals discover the meaning behind symbols and images in dreams, artwork, and the synchronicities in day-to-day living. She can guide you in discovering your purpose and help you feel more confident in your ability to create.
Working one-on-one with children:
Kat’s studio is a safe place for children to express themselves in whatever medium they are drawn to. They can work in clay, paint, collage, or tell their story in the Sand tray.
