here are many things that influence Kat's work: the surrounding beautiful mountains, the ever-changing flow of the rivers, and the unexpected surprises of nature. She is an avid collector of trinkets, treasures and recyclables, and consequently, her material supply filling her studio is an art piece in and of its own!

Process is the most important part of her art-making, and each unique sculpture carries a message. Her work varies from abstract 3-D clay & mixed media to make-believe scenes of habitats for miniature characters which accompany her original short stories. She is able to incorporate her many talents of photography, collage, jewelry, and teaching to inspire a world of colorful, imaginative and expressive work.
